Red Mile Race Reviews

Thursday, September 5th

Track Handicapper – Gabe Prewitt

Race 1                     Selections                                3-2-6

1

Platinum T

Made a break the only time we saw her locally, I’ll wait until we see some improvement.  Only her 2nd LT try.

2

Magic Glide

Trotted to an even 4th place finish in his local debut, and appears to be in what should be a much more manageable spot here.  I’ll try him behind the fav.

3

Mistresswith Muscle

Filly was a $70k yearling purchase, and she couldn’t have been anymore impressive in her career debut here last week, finishing 2nd behind another nice filly.  Should be all systems go in 2nd LT try.

4

Musclecar Man

Hasn’t shown enough speed to hang with the top ones in here just yet.  Pass.

5

All Glide

Another yet to prove he packs enough speed to hang with the top ones in here, I’ll watch his 1st LT start closely.

6

Berto Adalina

Has been fairly consistent here all season, and should be able to ride the cones here in short field.  I’ll toss her on the ticket underneath.

Race 2                     Selections                                1-2-6

1

Argon Fire

I wouldn’t be too hard on him after getting beaten as a heavy fav last time, as he was trying to close into a 55 second backhalf.  Should be sitting MUCH closer tonight from the pole.  The one to beat in my mind.

2

Lacys Friskie Gal

Continues to put in solid efforts here locally week after week.  Must respect those efforts, but yet to break through for a victory.  I’ll try her underneath once again.  Nisonger opted here over #3.

3

Veloce

Wire to wire winner when we last saw him, but keep in mind he was in against a much softer crew than he faces tonight.  Not sure I can endorse him against this crew.  Nisonger opted to #2 instead.

4

Buckshot Express

Buckshot has fired a couple of blanks locally, I’ll wait until we see some improvement.

5

Hoosier Rosie

OH invader hasn’t had much success against much tougher company recently at Scioto, but she does have a license to improve a bit on the stretch out to the mile oval in her 5th seasonal start.  I’ll watch this one.

6

Fanticipation

Came up just short as the heavy fav on the off track here last week, but still a solid effort nonetheless.  I would expect another off the pace rally here, should land her on the ticket once again.

Race 3                     Selections                                2-4-1

1

Elzane

Always a bit concerning when we see a scratched ‘sick’ line prior, so not quite sure what to expect here.  Appears to be wide open behind the fav, one of several with a shot.

2

Clementine Dream

Trotted an even 5th last time behind what was the eventual KYSS Champion, and lands in what is a MUCH softer spot tonight.  Does have some breaking issues, but looks TONS the best.

3

Amgan

Making a lot of breaks on the OH fair circuit recently, and wasn’t overly impressive in the lone start at Northfield.  Pass.

4

Come and Play

Canadian invader has been missing a lot of time in between starts, and sports a 1 for 55 LT resume.  Certainly fits with these for the minor awards.

5

Smartys Darlin

Appears to have finally gotten past the breaking problems that kept troubling her in the AM, but would still be asking a lot to hang with this crew.  Not yet.

6

Caribbean Dream

Not a huge fan of hers, but she lands in what may be the softest spot she has faced locally.  Still not sure I can jump on the bandwagon just yet.

Race 4                     Selections                                2-5-1-8                    50 Cent Superfecta Wagering

1

Blue Diamonds

Unable to get the job done as a heavy fav last time, but still a decent effort to be a close 2nd.  Should sit close once again tonight after landing on the pole.  Lachance opted here over #8.

2

Zoli

A couple of notches below the top colts in KYSS action, but lands into a much more manageable spot here.  I can make a big case for him against these.

3

Alfredo Dream

Lost all chance with the break behind the gate as the heavy fav last time, and I’ll wait until we see some improvement before hopping back on board.

4

Richesse Oblige

Trotted evenly against similar company since arriving locally, but still appears to be a notch or two below the favs in here.  I’ll pass for now.

5

Penn

Just missed picking up a check in the $250k KYSS final here on Sunday, ending up a distant 6th.  Lands in against overnight company here, likely blasting early.  Must respect.

6

Flatrock Flower

Not sure she is ready to hang with this crew just yet.  Pass.

7

Cowling Park

Showed a lot of improvement last time in finishing a close 2nd after a tough trip, but lands in against a much better crew here.  Would still need a lot more.

8

Johnny Boy F

Absolutely romped against weaker rivals last time, but not sure he will find things as easy in here.  Possibly a shot at the minor awards.  Lachance opted to #1 instead.

Race 5                     Selections                                1-3-5

1

Magnifique

Mowed down in deep stretch last time by a nice filly, and lands in what is no question the softest spot she has seen in her brief career.  No doubt the one to beat, should win by as many as she wants to.

2

Miller’s Dawn

Local debut wasn’t all that bad 2 starts back, but she threw in a very dull effort to follow that up here on Sunday.  Not quite sure what to expect here, looks like one of many in play for the minor awards.

3

When N Rome

Finished up a solid 2nd behind the fav in her local debut as the longest shot on the board.  Any further improvement puts her squarely in the mix for the minor awards once again.  Nisonger opted to #1 instead.

4

Jakinator

Lightly raced 2yo hasn’t offered much to get excited about at this point, I’ll watch him go around once locally first.

5

Whale of a Tale

A nice even effort for his local debut, and should continue to improve here in his 2nd local try.  Another with a shot behind the fav.  Nisonger opted to #1 instead.

6

Rountuit Bluegrass

Ended up 2nd in the fair last time, but didn’t have much to offer when we saw him at Hoosier.  I’ll watch one first.

7

Breakwater

Haven’t been overly impressed with this guy in his local tries, but he lands in an extremely weak group tonight.  Certainly merits consideration for the minor awards.

8

Rokingcastle

Made breaks in both local starts, and lands on the outside tonight.  Not for me.

Race 6                     Selections                                5-10-1                     Pick 4 Starts Here                  See Ticket at the End

1

Take a Shot Scott

Ended up an even 3rd last time behind the runaway winner in what was an improved performance.  Any further improvement should put him in play once again.  Maybe.

2

Duke Towne

Hasn’t had much to offer locally, I’ll wait until we see some improvement before hopping on board.

3

Mor Storms Coming

A couple of even 4th place finishes in a row at this level, I could see him contending for the minor awards once again.  Your call.

4

Stone Cold Fever

Hasn’t been anywhere close recently.  Pass.

5

Leadmeto thetruth

Makes a move over to the conditioned ranks from claiming company, and that should be a bit more to his liking.  No good on the sloppy track here last week, needs a big rebound.  I’m willing to roll the dice on him.

6

Feel the Jolt

OH invader is only 1 for 47 the last couple of seasons, and would need her very best to compete for any of the major awards in here.  I’m not feeling it.

7

Gunner McKenna

Continues to improve with each local start at this level, finishing just in behind #’s 1 & 10 in that last try.  Any further improvement puts him squarely in the mix.

8

Gran Hiratzka

No threat in that last effort, now takes a drop into our bottom level.  Would still need to pick things up quite a bit.

9

JT’s First

Trying out our bottom level condition for the first time, but is another that would have to pick things up significantly to contend for any of the major awards.  I’ll pass for now.

10

Imadragon

Pluta blasted him from post 10 last time, and I would assume we could expect the same here.  He raced a lot better in that last try, anything similar puts him in the mix once again.

Race 7                     Selections                                9-4-2-10                  50 Cent Superfecta Wagering

1

Scootin in Secret

Hasn’t had much luck in OH recently, and would have to pick things up quite a bit to contend for any of the major awards here.

2

Georgian Jiffyjane

Jiffy never fired in that last start, but had been in good form prior.  Not quite sure what to expect here, but no question she fits with these when she is on top of her game.  Will be all decked out in pink.

3

West Coast Arturo

12yo mare continues to struggle locally, can’t endorse.

4

Glad It’s Over

Hmmm…  Barn has been on an absolute roll recently.  This lass shows $8k claiming lines from Cali, now drops in for a $2.5k tag locally.  Over 3 months on the shelf.  Lot of ?’s no doubt, but I’ll toss her on ticket.

5

Kiss Me Callie

Canadian invader competed here quite a bit as a youngster, and now ships in locally for a barn that has been firing on all cylinders recently.  I would expect some improvement.

6

Hatsoff for Gracie

Only 1 for 56 in the last couple of seasons, but did flash a touch of improvement in that last try.  Still would be asking a lot to hang with the top ones in here.

7

Thank You Mamma

No luck at this level recently, would take a complete turnaround here.

8

Pureform Misskiss

Flashed some improvement in a nice even effort last time, and lands in a considerably softer crew here.  Any similar effort should put her squarely in the mix.

9

Seboomook Pandora

Barn has been doing well locally, and welcomes a new addition to the roster here.  Immediately takes a substantial drop into $2.5k claiming ranks, price should be right.  Live longshot?  I think so.

10

Roxie Lee N

Decent in an even 5th place finish last time, but I honestly thought she should have finished up much closer after a picture perfect journey.  Things won’t get any easier from way out here.

Race 8                     Selections                                8-7-9-5                    50 Cent Superfecta Wagering

1

Mor Than Enuf Russ

Knocking on the door at this level recently, and should be aided with the inside draw.  Appears to be in play for the minor awards once again.

2

Clooney

No threat at this level recently.  Pass.

3

Jeremy Sharky

Finished far behind #8 in both local tries, would have to pick things up quite a bit to contend for any of the major awards.

4

Doc’s Sea Lion

No excuse not to get the job done in my opinion in his first drop in for a claiming tag last time.  Not sure I’m ready to hop back on board after that.

5

Our Little Pilgrim

Finished up evenly behind #8 in his last couple, and lands in a perfect mid-pack post once again.  Should be picking up the pieces late once again.  Maybe.

6

Hillcrest Domingo

Not sure he packs enough speed to hang with the top ones in here right now.  Pass.

7

Glad to be Here

Solid rally to surge past on the sloppy track for the 11-1 upset here last week.  Should be flying late once again, anything similar puts him in the mix.

8

Laredos Goose

Hard to knock this 10yo, who has put together a 3 race win streak heading into tonight.  He is the one to beat, likely another off the pace rally coming here.

9

Great Mystery

No threat after getting caught up in the big mile last time, but finished up a nice 2nd behind #8 in the start prior.  Might get a perfect trip following him up tonight.  Maybe.

Race 9                     Selections                                5-6-8-4                    50 Cent Superfecta Wagering

1

Preferred Stock

Took a few bad steps behind the gate last time, and now lands on the pole.  Should be in line for a nice up close journey.  Will need his absolute very best.

2

Blueridge Hall

Fairly dull effort to finish 4th here on Sunday, would have to pick things up quite a bit to contend for any of the major awards.  Pass.

3

Request to Win

OH invader hasn’t had much luck recently, and I’ll watch her go around once locally before hopping on board.

4

Tricky Grin

12yo has been racing much better recently from outside posts in the claiming ranks, and appears to have landed in a fairly manageable spot tonight against conditioned company.  Must respect.

5

Silent Fool

I was very impressed with that last effort, getting scorched to the half in 55.1 from post 10, yet still fighting down the lane to hold 2nd.  If he is that good again tonight, I don’t think there is any doubt he’s the one to beat.

6

Bluebird Tizzy

Tired to finish 4th after a tough trip at this level last time, and any smoother journey should put her in the mix.

7

Blueridge Casino

No threat in his local debut, and it doesn’t appear things are going to get any easier here.  Pass.  Nisonger opted to #5 instead.

8

Lu L Bluegrass

Indy invader hasn’t had much luck recently, but lands in what should be an easier spot locally.  Still will have to pick things up a bit.

9

Ohnoyou didn’t

No luck at this level recently, and lands on the outside against competitive crew here.  I can’t hop on board just yet.

10

Lasting Endeavor

Mare lands on the outside of tough crew for her local debut.  I’ll watch one first.

Race 10                   Selections                                9-7-6-2-1                 10 Cent Super Hi Five Wagering           $369 Carryover

1

Moreagio

Has been a bit better since adding lasix 2 back, but still appears to be asking a bit much to contend for the major awards against this crew.  Possibly a shot to finish underneath.

2

Patty Says So

Patty was a well beaten 5th last time, but now lands on the inside of what might be a bit easier crew.  Should be sitting much closer.  Needs her very best.  Nisonger opted here over #4.

3

OG’s Divine Lady

No luck against similar company in the last couple, and I’ll wait until we see her show some signs of improvement.  Pass for now.

4

Limbo Glide

Popped out early last week to challenge for the lead, only to tire a bit down the lane in a 4th place finish.  Still not sure he is ready to hang with the top ones in here just yet.  Nisonger opted to #2 instead.

5

Victoria Valley

Maybe a bit better after adding lasix prior to the last start, but would take a LOT more still to go with the top ones in here.  Not tonight.

6

MJ’s Be There

Only one in for the $2.5k claiming tag tonight, this guy was fair the last time we saw him in a 3rd place finish just in behind #7.  Lands in a perfect mid-pack post here.  Maybe.

7

Dawns A Breakin

Unleashed a big stretch rally last time to pick up 2nd behind the runaway winner.  I would expect her to be flying late once again.  Should be very close.

8

A Step Above

Note the barn change tonight, but this guy doesn’t appear to be on top of his game currently.  I’ll watch one first.

9

Ravine

Lone 2yo has been on the shelf over 3 weeks now after the ‘sick’ scratch in the stake, but has flashed some nice speed thus far in her brief career.  Likely blasting early.  Catch her if you can.

10

Massasauga

Has been on the improve recently, but a tough assignment tonight from way out here.  Won’t be easy.  Your call.
