Red Mile Nightly Selections

Sunday, August 10, 2014

Track Handicapper – Gabe Prewitt

Race 1                                 Selections                                                5-11-1-8

1

Sorrento Hall

Defending KYSS Champ is back to defend his crown, and one year later still appears to be the one to beat.  Connections added trotting hobbles last time at Pocono, hopefully that has resolved breaking issues.  Must respect.

2

Groton Party

Made a break in his only party this year, and followed that up with a so-so Q’fer here last week.  Probably going to need a start or two before we get his best shot.  Pass for now.

3

Rebel Soul

Flashed some talent in limited appearances here last season, but doesn’t appear to pack that knockout punch as he is still winless in 15 career tries.  Would have to pick things up quite a bit to go with the top ones in here.

4

Southern Déjà vu

Added Lasix prior to that last try in the $8.5k KY Fair Final but it didn’t appear to help the stamina issues.  Appears overmatched against this crew.

5

Tinder

Never worse than 2nd in 6 career tries, including a very close 2nd behind an older rival here last week.  Should fit nicely with this crew, and might offer a bit of value against #1.  Perfect mid-pack post in big bulky field.  Smith chose over #7.

6

Kabu

Parlayed a perfect trip into an easy win against softer crew last time in the $8.5k KY Fair Final.  No question a major step up tonight, would have to pick things up even more.  Your call.

7

Victory Scene

Dominant here a couple of starts back in KY Fair action, but packed it in down the lane in the $8.5k Final last time.  I was disappointed in that effort, needs a big rebound here.  T. Smith opted to #5 instead.

8

Samburu

Making his 3yo debut tonight after a sharp AM effort on the east coast.  Was the runner up in last year’s $250k Final, but probably going to need a start before we see his best.  Should be flying late.

9

High Seriousness

Appears overmatched against this crew.  Pass.

10

Hey Pancho

Yet to hit the board in 5 starts this season, gets slammed with post 10 as well.  Not tonight.  Noble opted to #7 instead.

11

Scacco Matto

Has been facing some tough rivals on the east coast as of late, defeated by Trixton 2 starts back who of course went on to win the $1 million Hambletonian.  Major class relief, should be able to follow #1 out from 2nd tier.  Maybe.

Race 2                                 Selections                                                7-4-3-2

1

MissTwinklins Jones

Has been packing it in recently on the KY Fair Circuit, and things aren’t going to get any easier here.  Pass.

2

Mama’s Home

Veteran horseplayers may notice this is a full sister to Camgrandest, who has earned over $245k and is the fav in tonight’s 13th race.  Yet to miss the board all season, finished far behind #4 last time though.  I’ll try underneath.

3

Third Tan

Appears to be getting better with each try, finished up 2nd in behind a good filly in her last attempt.  Should continue to improve, but still not sure she is ready for the top ones in here.

4

Cielle

Arrives into tonight sporting a nice resume in 6 LT tries, including a good 2nd in the $10k KY Fair Final in that last start.  Looks like a 2 horse race on paper w/#7, and this filly does have the experience edge over her rival.

5

Cam’s Lilly

The Lilly is yet to bloom, appears to have landed in a tough spot for her first assignment.  Pass.

6

Third Sue

Picks up the services of T. Smith tonight, but has been finishing up far behind many of her KY Fair rivals recently.  Would still need to step things up quite a bit.

7

Makeba Hall

First time starter arrives in town to tackle stakes company in her first try under the lights.  Two AM efforts have been sharp, would have to think she would likely improve on the stretch out to the mile oval.  Must respect.

Race 3                                 Selections                                                1-4-2-3

1

Petticoat Affair

Defending KYSS Champ banked nearly $200k in 9 starts last season, but has yet to get rolling here in ’14.  Added Lasix back for her AM try, but made a break.  Are we going to see her best effort here?  Not sure.

2

Sister Star

A winner in half of her LT starts, and most of those on the KY Fair Circuit including the $9.5k KY Fair Final in her last try.  Steps up to KYSS action here, but she is razor sharp right now.  Any further improvement puts her in the mix.

3

KJ Brenda

East coast invader has been ‘ok’ against overnight company recently, but hasn’t shown anything to get overly excited about. Likely going to be overbet with Lachance in the bike, I’ll consider her for minor awards only.

4

Twice Too Nice

Has been trotting evenly against upstate NY rivals, and appears to be fairly well spotted in decent form here in her return to the red clay.  Has some early speed to get involved, should hang around to be close late.

5

Lady Kate

Improving in those AM tries, but still appears overmatched for now.  I’ll watch one first.

6

Vicalicious

Finished far back against overnight company here last week, still asking a bit much for her at this point.  Pass.

7

Dress for Success

Only 1 win in 17 tries, but has hit the board in 9 of those 17.  Arrives into tonight off consecutive 2nd place finishes behind #2, picks up the services of Noble as well.  Should continue to improve. Maybe.

8

Gliding Princess

Has been a notch or two below the top Fair fillies all season long, and now lands out in post 8 against an even better crew.  I’ll wait for a better spot.

9

Ella Teel

Chi-town invader arrives in town off a maiden breaking score at Balmoral for top connections.  Certainly not done any favors with post 9, and doesn’t appear to have a lot of early speed.  Likely going to have to do it from far back.

Race 4                                 Selections                                                4-5-3-7

1

Doc’s Hobo

Has picked things up a bit since adding Lasix 2 starts back, but still appears to be a notch or two below the top ones here in KYSS action.  I’ll pass for now.

2

Sam Axe

Well beaten by #6 on the KY Fair Circuit recently, appears overmatched against these.  Pass.

3

Proceed to Party

Last year’s KYSS runner up has been MIA for most of the season, and now debuts for new connections in stakes action.  Hard to gage his current form.  I’ll try him in behind the favorite.

4

On Golden Ponder

Held his own with top level stakes talent last season, and should be fresh here in his ’14 debut after a sparkling Q’fer last time in Toronto.  Campbell-McIntosh have teamed up for many wins here in the past, add another.

5

Last Best Chance

Defending KYSS Champ has yet to hit the board in 5 tries on the east coast this season, but that should change as he returns to the red clay.  Looks like main threat to #4, I’ll use him underneath.

6

Sir Barton

KY Fair Champ hasn’t been worse than 2nd this season, but steps up to take on some solid foes here in KYSS.  Will need to find some more speed to hang with these.

7

First Frost

Overlooked last week at 39-1 in his career debut, but peeled off a solid effort to finish 3rd against overnight company.  Should continue to improve, but likely asking a bit much still at this point.

Race 5                                 Selections                                                6-4-7-5

1

Sharp Edge

7yo does have some talent and back class with over $186k in the bank, and the stretch out to the big oval may help those breaking problems as well.  Lands in a tough crew here, will need his very best punch.  Page chose over #3.

2

Wheels

Dug in down the lane here on Opening Night to fend off his rival en route to the slim victory.  Takes a big step up here to take on much better crew.  Not sure I can hop on board against these.  Noble opted to #6 instead.

3

Baby Blaze

Tried to go down the road here last week, only to tire late in a distant 4th place finish.  Stamina has been the main concern recently.  Not sure things are going to get any easier here, needs more.  Page opted to #1 instead.

4

Mystical Dew

Former KYSS winner arrives into town in great form from Indiana, including back to back wins against solid overnight rivals at Hoosier.  Certainly fits with these.

5

Shelby Couny

Very sharp earlier this winter in taking a 54.4 LT mark in South Florida, but the train has gone off the tracks recently.  Not exactly sure what has happened, but she has proven she can go with these in the past.

6

Chinese Cuisine

Always been a big fan of this guy, he packs great speed as long as he keeps his mind on business.  Has been facing some tough company on east coast, should blast out and sit close here.  I’ll take a shot.  Noble opted here over #2.

7

Rever Ever

Absolutely exploded by his rivals here on Opening Night en route to an easy victory, and appeared to have plenty more in the tank.  Must respect after that effort.

Race 6                                 Selections                                                3-1-8                                    Start of the $5,000 Guaranteed Pick 4                               See Ticket at the End

1

Stevia Hanover

Held her own against overnight company in Paducah, and lands on the pole here in what appears to be a WIDE open crew.  Only 1 for 25 LT, but picks up the services of Chris Page who had 4 winners last Sunday.  Maybe.

2

Career Best

Barn had two race well here on Opening Night, but this guy arrives into town off a lackluster performance in Indy in his career debut.  No question an easier spot here, but would have to find some improvement still.

3

Tricksare Myway

Tough to gage recent form for this mare arriving in from OH fairs, but certainly lands in what appears to be a manageable spot for her local debut.  Should fly a bit under the radar and offer some value as well.  I’ll take a shot.

4

Flip It On

Lightly raced 3yo is making only his 4th start back of the season, and finished up an even 4th behind a similar crew last time in Cleveland.  Should enjoy stretching out to the mile oval.  Your call.

5

Ponda Watts

Finished up a nice even 4th as a big longshot here last weekend, and does pack some early speed if Bolon elects to blast out from mid-pack post.  Probably could only consider her for the minor awards once again.

6

Startin Something

Not much luck in 2 LT tries at Hoosier, but should find this to be a much more manageable spot.  One of many with a shot in WIDE open start to the Pick 4.

7

CupcakeN Cashmere

Raced evenly against similar company at Scioto last time, and should continue to improve in only 3rd start back on the season.  Maybe.  Kauffman opted to #8 instead.

8

Wild in the Win

Yet to hit the board in 11 tries this season, but did show some life in her last try en route to a close 4th place finish.  Again, it appears to be wide open and I would demand a price with whomever you choose.  Kauffman chose over #7.

9

Idontthank Youcan

Finished far back in KY Fair action, would take a LOT more to go with these.  Pass.

10

Unbroken Circle

Couldn’t hang with mid-level stakes company in PA at first asking, but should enjoy the class relief tonight in her local debut.  Won’t be easy from way out here though, Stiltner will have to find a way to work her into the race.

Race 7                                 Selections                                                5-4-3-2

1

Milano Grande

Finished up a decent 3rd at this level last week, and I could consider her for the minor awards once again after landing on the pole.  Should sit closer early.  Maybe.

2

Lyons Frank

Got caught up in a tough spot last time when changing barns on the move to Scioto, and should find himself in a much more manageable group here.  Needs a big rebound.  Kauffman opted here over #8.

3

Springhouse Rebel

Held #1 off to hold the place spot here last week, and should be able to blast out and sit close once again.  Definitely fits with these.

4

UmyGA Hanover

Minnesota invader put together a great resume last season, but hasn’t found the same success so far in ’14. Fairly long ship all the way from MN, you would have to think barn will have her ready to rock and roll here.  Maybe.

5

Rock Groupie

Well bred 3yo rallied nicely to be 3rd last time at Hoosier, and lands in a perfect mid-pack post against what should be weaker company tonight.  Can do it on or off the pace.  The one to beat.

6

Easy on the Chips

Racing evenly recently at Hoosier, and might just be able to work out a perfect trip in here following #5.  Will need her very best punch to go with the top ones in here though.

7

Big Ape

Didn’t have much to offer here on Opening Night, would have to pick things up quite a bit.  Pass.

8

Realiscape

12yo has plenty of back class with over $333k in the bank, and has had some success here in the past as well.  Likely going to flash his usual late kick and pounce late.  Your call.  Kauffman opted to #2 instead.

9

Lookabout

Far back in his last couple tries at Hoosier, and likely going to be coming from far back here after landing in post 9.  Needs more.

10

Lumiere

Fired out last Sunday through some quick fractions, only to pack it in down the lane and finish far back.  Slammed with post 10 here, not sure things are going to get any easier.

Race 8                                 Selections                                                9-5-6-2

1

Hillcrest Domingo

Had a hot pace to close into last week, but came up flat and was unable to make up much ground.  Not sure he is ready to go with the top ones in here either.  Pass.

2

Paper Luck

Never involved last time from outside post at Scioto, but gets plenty of class and post relief tonight in his local debut.  Typically a good combination.  He fits with these.  Kauffman opted to #5 instead.

3

Our Little Pilgrim

I was a bit disappointed with his effort last week, finishing up a flat 4th at this level.  Would have to find some more pop on the end of it to contend for the major awards.  Not yet.  Page opted to #9 instead.

4

Topville Diamond

Speaking of disappointing, a very dull effort here on Thursday night at this level and I don’t see things getting any easier here.  I’m hopping off the bandwagon until we see some improvement.

5

Medoland J T

Hung in for a long way last week, after being used aggressively from post 10.  Dives down into our bottom level claimer now with post relief.  Must respect.  Kauffman opted here over #2.

6

Rapper munn

Didn’t have much to offer against overnight company at Northfield, but returns to old barn here tonight for local debut.  Appears to have landed in a suspect crew, his best effort puts him squarely in the mix.

7

FrankLloyd

Frank hasn’t had any luck in 3 tries this season, hard to see things getting any better here.  Pass.

8

Mor Than Enuf Russ

Finished up an even 5th from outside post here last week at this level, and lands back in against a similar crew tonight.  I could consider him for the minor awards.

9

R Master Scott

Completely packed it in after being used hard last time in Cleveland, and is another that should enjoy the class relief into our bottom level locally.  Has some early speed if Page elects to use it.  Page opted here over #3.

10

Catmando

Rode the cones to a decent 3rd place finish against similar last week, but now moves to far outside post and has his work cut out.  Needs his absolute very best.

Race 9                                 Selections                                                5-1-3-7

1

Reckoning Day

Used HARD here last week in an all out early duel, yet still managed to hang around late for a 4th place finish.  Should find a much smoother journey here from the pole, but hooks some tough rivals.  One of several with a shot.

2

Deo Gloria

A decent debut locally last time, finishing up a close 2nd as the fav.  Should improve here in her 2nd local try, but hooks another solid group.  Needs her very best.

3

Don’t Sugar Me

Barn had a winner here last week, and appear to have another one well spotted here.  Has been involved in some quick miles up in Indy recently, no question she fits with these.

4

Blueridge Orion

Tired after a tough trip here last week, and now takes a drop tonight but still lands in a tough crew.  I’ll wait for a better spot.

5

Leaf Nation

Absolutely annihilated a weaker crew here last week in a LT best, and takes a step up tonight for hot barn.  Lands in a perfect mid-pack post.  Big shot.

6

Daylyn Horizon

Racing evenly against overnight company in Indy, but hooks a solid group tonight for his local debut.  Will have to pick things up a bit to contend for any of the major awards in here.

7

TrevAdams Attack

Holding his own against tough overnight rivals at Scioto, should like the stretch out to the mile oval.  Likely will be reserved early, looking to pounce late.  His best effort puts him in play.  Noble opted here over #8.

8

E R Prince Charmin

Has had plenty of success here in the past, but we haven’t seen him since November and hooks a solid group for ’14 debut.  I’ll watch one first.  Noble opted to #7 instead.

9

Winsmith Brianna

Couldn’t hang with the top ones last week at this level, and now lands way out in post 9.  Not sure things are going to get any easier here.  Pass.

10

Ellie’sBest Dream

Appeared to have big shot last week turning for home after taking a short lead, only to tire in deep stretch before finishing 5th.  Likely going to sit far back early here, won’t be easy.

Race 10                              Selections                                                7-4-5-6

1

Salsa Star

Competitive here last year in KYSS action, but hasn’t had much to offer so far in her sophomore campaign.  I’ll wait until we see some improvement.  T. Smith opted to #5 instead.

2

Wicked One

Looks to have landed in deep water here for her ’14 debut.  I’ll watch one first.

3

Calvados Hall

Lightly raced filly would have to find a LOT more speed to hang with the top ones in here.  Not tonight.

4

Rollin Deep

Western Canadian invader has been in solid form all season, and now faces what is likely her toughest task to date in a step up to tackle KYSS company.  Appears to fit well with these, looks like main threat to #7.  Lachance chose over #9.

5

Caribbean Jewel

Impossible trip in KY Fair Final, and still finished 2nd after the tough trip.  Probably a notch or two below the top ones in here, but does have some early speed to secure good position.  T. Smith opted here over #1.

6

All Charged Up

Debuted for new barn last time at Pocono, and ended up finishing an even 5th against overnight company.  Would likely have to pick things up a bit to contend for the major awards, but appears wide open behind the 2 favs.

7

Somethin Incredible

Tired in her last Toronto try after a tough trip, but appears to be back in good form here in her 3yo campaign.  No question the one to beat here.

8

Best Legacy

Racing evenly against overnight company in Chi-town, and now takes a step up to take on some tough fillies here in KYSS action.  I could consider her for the minor awards only.

9

Magical Bestern

Doesn’t appear to pack the speed to hang with the top ones in here, lands in post 9 to make matters worse.  Not tonight.  Lachance opted to #4 instead.

10

Take Cover

Slammed with post 10, and looks overmatched against these.  Pass.

11

Sorority Girl

Tried to go down the road in KY Fair Final, but tired down the lane to finish up a distant 3rd.  Should be in line for a nice journey here from 2nd tier, but not sure she packs enough speed to hang with the top ones.

Race 11                              Selections                                                5-2-7-1

1

Copper Cat

Has been even recently against similar company at Scioto, and should be in line for another smooth journey after landing on the pole.  Needs his very best.  Kauffman opted here over #3.

2

Tickle My Fantasy

Debuted nicely for new connections last time, with a 3rd place finish behind a couple of tough rivals.  Drops back in for tag here, should find this level even more to his liking.  Big shot.

3

Dusty Dunes

Hasn’t had much to offer in OH recently against $5k claiming level, now steps up for his local debut.  Not sure I can endorse him against these.  Kauffman opted to #1 instead.

4

Jolts Virtue

Finished up a decent 3rd here last week, but I must admit that I wasn’t overly impressed with that try.  Lands back in full field here, will have to find some improvement still.

5

Winbak Jake

Torched last time out on the off track, and now takes a drop down for a barn that has had some success here already this meet.  Looks to be well spotted for his first win of the season.  I’m on board.  Noble chose over #’s 6 & 7.

6

Noah C

Noah has been a magnet for rough trips recently, including in his one local try last week.  Comes right back in at the same level, but appears to be facing tougher group tonight.  Needs his very best.  Noble opted to #5 instead.

7

Best Dream Seeker

Barn has raced 2 here in 2 nights thus far…..  both wins.  This guy makes his 2nd start down at this level after disappointing as the fav last time out at Scioto.  Should enjoy the stretch out to the mile oval.  Noble opted to #5.

8

Real Joke

One of the top pacers in the country only a few short years ago, but has only seen limited action over the last couple of seasons.  Might be in line for a nice trip following up #7 here, still needs to find more pop on the end of it.

9

MrtyDa 1ManParty

Marty has his work cut out from way out here, looks like he will likely have to do it from last.  No question he fits with these, if Nisonger can find a way to work him into the race.

Race 12                              Selections                                                9-4-7-1

1

Toshie Special

Raced very well off nearly a 2 year layoff here last week, taking the lead at the top of the stretch before being collared late.  Should continue to improve, but lands back in solid crew here.  Your call.  Tetrick opted to #7 instead.

2

Special Lindy

Had things her own way on top here last week, but couldn’t fend off the favorite late.  Not sure things are going to get any easier here in big bulky field.  Needs her very best.  Kauffman opted here over #5.

3

Nutmegs Yankee

Indy invader nearing in on $300k in her career, and has been knocking heads with some tough company recently at Hoosier.  Has beaten many of her main rivals here in the past.  Must respect.

4

Twin B Heartland

Trading blows with #3 recently in overnight ranks at Hoosier, and appears to be well spotted for her local debut.  No question she fits with these.  Maybe.

5

Olivia V

Not quite sure what to think here, claimed for only $6k back on 7-10 at Hoosier and followed that up with a single start in for $12k before arriving in town tonight.  Has wicked early speed if Bolon elects to use it.  Kauffman chose #2 instead.

6

Kiss Me Callie

Couldn’t keep up with Open company here in short field last week, and things aren’t going to get any easier for her here.  I’ll wait for an easier spot.

7

Classie Thinker

Yet another Indy invader with a shot in here, has proven she can hold her own with the likes of #’s 2 & 3.  Trace sticks tonight, any smooth journey puts her in play.  Tetrick opted here over #1.

8

Best of the Best

Rallied by her rivals in the stretch here last week en route to the 21-1 upset, but steps up to take on FAR better company with this crew.  Likely going to provide big value once again, needs even more.

9

Gran Gabriel

Another Indy invader here, and will likely provide some value from way out in post 9.  Shows defeating #’s 3 & 4 back on 7-11 at Hoosier, I’m willing to take a flier.  Live longshot?  I think so.

10

Ella V Horse

Large step up tonight from lower level claiming ranks to take on top level mares.  Slammed with post 10.  Not positive indicators.  Pass.

Race 13                              Selections                                                1-6-4-3

1

Camgrandest

Things set up perfectly for him upon his return to the red clay last week, pouncing on his rivals late en route to an open length win.  Should be sitting much closer early from the pole, anything similar puts him close.

2

Breakin Loose

Holding his own against overnight company in Columbus, but hooks up with what appears to be an even tougher group here in his local debut.  Should sit close, but I could only consider him for the minor awards.  Page opted to #9 instead.

3

Personal Shooter

Indy invader steps up to take on older rivals here tonight, and should be able to take advantage of that big late kick.  I’ll toss him on the ticket.  Needs his very best shot.

4

What’sit Toyoutwo

Crushed some fairly solid rivals down in Paducah, including a LT best performance last time at the Preferred level.  Certainly a test for class here, but the price should be right.  Your call.  Page opted to #9 instead.

5

The Comedian

Closed from somewhere out on Versailles Rd turning for home last week, and picked off his rivals one by one en route to the win.  Not sure things will set up that perfectly here, has to find more.

6

AK’s Livin Large

Barn was on a roll here on Thursday with 3 wins in 3 starts, claiming this guy for $10k in his last start.  Plenty of back class here with over $244k in the bank, likely blasting early.  Maybe.

7

Concert Ticket

I was disappointed in his local debut here last Sunday, as he didn’t have much to offer down the lane in a dull 4th place finish.  No question he is better than that, but hard to jump on board tonight.

8

Omaha Survivor

The survivor arrives in town from MN, but certainly has some question marks after a ‘scratch-injured’ line and a dull effort prior.  I’ll watch one first.

9

Major Bet

Wrapped up winner in the $7.5k claiming ranks here on Opening Night, but steps up to the major leagues here and lands way out in post 9 to make matters worse.  Has to find a way to get involved, won’t be easy.  Page opted here over #’s 2 & 4.

10

Rock of Luck

Finished up a distant 2nd to #1 off the brief layoff here last week, but has the bad luck of landing on the far outside tonight.  Not sure I can endorse him from way out here.

Race 14                              Selections                                                2-4-10-8

1

River Thames

Moves from post 10 to the pole tonight, and should end up with a smoother journey here.  Still going to need to find some more pop on the end of it to contend for the major awards.

2

Magnifique

Absolutely packed it in turning for home here last week after some moderate fractions.  Not sure what happened there, she IS better than that.  Big time class relief tonight as well, I’m willing to hop on board.  Nisonger opted to #10.

3

Electric Pet

Indy invader arrives locally after a couple of average tries in the conditioned claiming ranks at Hoosier.  Probably facing a similar crew here, but will have to pick things up a bit.

4

BootScootn Boogie

Not sure where that effort came from last week, but he endured a tough trip and came up only a head short of pulling off the 18-1 upset.  Anything similar to that makes him a major player.

5

Blue Spanx

Not much luck against similar rivals in his lone Bluegrass start, I’ll watch one locally before hopping on board.

6

Gunslinger’s Lady

This lady has been missing some time here recently, and arrives into tonight with only 1 win in 49 tries.  Looks like a tough assignment.

7

MeadowBrook Deana

Finished far back in her only pari-mutuel try at Hoosier, would have to find a LOT more to hang with the top ones in here.

Doc’s Suzie

Suzie fired a good shot here last week, tiring to finish a close 4th after an aggressive steer.  Looks to have landed in a manageable spot once again, any smoother journey should put her close.

9

The Hit Lady

The Hit Lady has been MIA for almost 2 years prior to tonight.  I’ll watch one.

10

Woo Shark

Nailed in the very last stride here last week as the 4-5 fav, but still a solid effort nonetheless.  No question he will be blasting early from way out here.  Anything similar puts him close once again.  Nisonger chose over #2.

Race 15                              Selections                                                2-1-9-4

1

Fox Valley Largo

Put together a solid rally from far back here last week, and should be involved much earlier here after landing on the pole.  Should be better here in his 2nd start off short layoff as well, WIDE open crew.  Maybe.

2

Clooney

Packed it in after trying to go down the road against tougher company last week, but keep in mind he had been RAZOR sharp prior to that move up in class.  Drops back in for $5k tag here, price is right, catch him if you can!

3

Kung Fu Jolt

Moved out of the pocket to try and reclaim the lead here last week, and ended up finding a front row spot in long term parking.  Doesn’t appear to have any high gear speed, I wasn’t impressed.

4

Paul the Powerful

Paul parlayed a perfect steer from Nisonger last week into an 8-1 upset against conditioned company, and now lands in for the claiming tag here.  Should be looking to pounce late once again.  Nisonger opted here over #5.

5

Kilo Dream

Put together a mild rally here last week to finish up a decent 3rd in behind #9.  Lone mare facing all males once again, going to need some more pop on the end of it.  Nisonger opted off to #4 instead.

6

Idbegood atthat

Has had some success here in the past, but hasn’t been firing with his best shot recently in OH at this level.  Needs to turn things around, but it won’t be easy.

7

Indelible

Things set up perfectly for him here last week, and he could only manage a dull 4th place finish.  Had been super in Indy prior to that try.  Is he heading in the right direction?  I’m not so sure.

8

Pleasant Rio

Never got involved in tough spot here last week, and looks to be facing tough assignment once again.  I’ll wait for a better spot.

9

Scoot Diablo

Outkicked his rivals down the lane here last week, and will likely be looking to pounce late once again after landing in post 9.  Page will have to find a way to work him into the race from way out here.  Must respect.

10

GordieHow

OH Fair invader slammed with post 10 for his local debut.  Appears overmatched against these.  Pass.

Race 16                              Selections                                                8-7-10-3-6                                                                        20-Cent Super Hi Five Wagering

1

Noha

Came up only a nose short of pulling off the 13-1 stunner here on Opening Night after being far back early.  Should be involved much earlier after landing on the pole.  Appears to have hooked a bit tougher group, needs his very best.

2

Kesons Avaia

Had nothing to offer late after enduring a tough first over try here last week, and appears to have hooked another solid crew here.  I’ll wait for a better spot.  Noble opted off to #7.

3

Somuch Cooleronline

Knocking on the door against some tough rivals in Paducah, hitting the board in 8 of 12 on the season.  Should enjoy the stretch out to the big track here, and should be a BIG price.  I’ll toss him on the ticket.  Noble opted to #7.

4

Mighty Mcarthur

3yo appears to be in over her head here against a tough lineup.  Pass for now.

5

Painter Pants

Changed barns 2 starts back at Scioto, but it hasn’t seemed to do much for her in the stamina department just yet.  Would have to find a lot more late.  Kauffman opted off to #9.

6

Allamerican Comet

Involved in a wicked early pace here last week, and understandably packed it in late.  Probably will be overlooked after that far back finish, but he CAN go with these if he finds a smoother journey.  I’ll try him underneath.

7

Bongo

Holding his own against solid overnight company in Columbus, and appears to be well spotted for a close finish in his local debut.  Looks like main threat to #8.  Noble opted here over #’s 2 & 3.

8

Blueridge Doc

Claimed 2 starts back for a $15k price, and connections were obviously happy with their purchase, moving him up for a $22.5k tag last time at Hoosier.  MAJOR drop in class for his local debut.  The one to beat.

9

B L Wattaride

Lone bright spot for the barn last week, putting away his foes down the lane to take the finale here last Sunday.  Steps up to face a far better crew it seems this week, needs more.  Kauffman opted here over #5.

10

Ohmybelle

Didn’t offer that usual late pop we typically see from her last week, but still raced ‘ok’ in a close 3rd place finish.  Takes a drop down on paper, but this has come up extremely tough for condition.  Won’t be easy from way out here.
