Red Mile Race Reviews
Saturday, September 15th
Track Handicapper – Gabe Prewitt
Race 1 Selections 2-4-5-3
1
Broadway Fame
Has had some severe stamina
issues in his last several, would take a complete turnaround here.
2
JB’s Cutie
Got caught up in a big mile
here last Sunday, but has been ultra consistent here all season for one of
our top barns. Anything close to her
best effort makes her the one to beat.
Nisonger opted here over #6.
3
Mor Storms Coming
No chance after getting
rimmed every step of the mile last time, and he should be able to sit early
and pounce late here in the small field.
Needs more late though.
4
Presidential Sam
Back in for a claiming tag
after getting caught up in a couple of big miles recently against conditioned
company. Appears to be the main threat
to #2.
5
Bobo Mcgee
Parked every step behind #3
last time, and still nearly dug in for the win in his local debut. Barn has had a great meet here, and I would
expect Bobo to be very close again with any smoother journey.
6
Jenny the Genie
Lands in what appears to be
an easier crew after finishing last in a small field last time in her local
debut. Still needs to pick it up a
bit. Nisonger opted off for #2
instead.
Race 2 Selections 2-3-6-4
1
Lightning Reno
Hasn’t had much to offer
since arriving locally, but I will point out that this is likely the easiest
crew that he has faced thus far. Still
going to have to pick it up quite a bit though.
2
Sexy Smile
Drops down to a level where
she should have a BIG smile on her face for the win picture. It’s now or never for this mare!
3
Shesgotwht everitis
Another that is taking on
the easiest crew she has faced here thus far, and anything close to her best
effort should put her right in the mix against these.
4
Realiscape
10yo has gone missing for a
few weeks since finishing a distant 2nd to a runaway winner. Might find himself in a similar spot here,
as it appears #2 will be a heavy fav.
5
Singlemalt whiskey
No stamina recently, hard to
see things changing in here.
Pass.
6
Scootnick Bodeen
Added lasix for the AM
effort, and ended up finishing a distant 2nd behind a nice
horse. Hopefully that will help pick
him up a bit. We’ll see.
7
Ridiculous Nicholas
Appears to pack plenty of
early speed, but stamina appears to be quite an issue. Not sure things are going to get any better
here on the mile strip.
Race 3 Selections 3-1-7-2
1
Side Pocket Harry
Hadn’t missed the board on
the IL fair circuit prior to getting caught up in the big mile last time at
Balmoral. Appears to be a much easier
crew here, and should sit close from the pole.
2
Request to Win
Parlayed a perfect trip into
a 2nd place finish last time behind the heavy fav, and that was
certainly a step in the right direction.
A fairly WIDE open crew here.
Your call.
3
Margarita Monday
A decent try last time to be
3rd, and no question this is a much softer spot tonight. Any similar effort should put her squarely
in the mix. I’m on board.
4
Real Impressive
Winless in 23 LT starts, but
she has proven that she can hold her own at this level locally. Appears wide open, and she is one of many
with a shot at the minor awards.
5
Barbra Carol Lynn
Had been racing fairly well
in Indy, but appears to have put in a couple of dull efforts since removing
lasix last month. Not an overly tough
group here, but I’ll watch her go around once first.
6
Watchatalkin about
Doesn’t appear to pack the
speed to hang with these. Pass.
7
Ballistic Tip
Lone 2yo was a disappointing
3rd as a heavy fav in his first local try, but I suppose we can
excuse that as the track was a mess.
Prior efforts in Chi-town were all solid. Maybe.
Race 4 Selections 4-7-5-8
1
Touch of Grace
An even debut for new barn
in Columbus,
and now lands on the pole in what appears to be a wide open crew for the
minor awards. Still would need her
absolute very best.
2
Felipe Makaay
Has held his own locally
against some solid groups thus far, and appears to be one of many with a shot
at the minor awards. I may look for
value underneath elsewhere.
3
Just Plain Jesse
Don’t be too hard on him
after that last start, he finished behind a couple of nice young trotters and
the track was an absolute mess. He
makes his 2nd start for live barn and could fly under the radar at
a big price. Maybe.
4
Quarantine
Strolled to an easy victory last time as the
heavy fav, and looks to have landed in a comfortable spot once again. Lots to like.
5
Rock With It
Trotted evenly on the end of
it last time to finish 3rd behind #4. Plenty of options from mid-pack post. No question he fits with these.
6
Tometta Byrd
Arrives locally after a
couple of dominant performances on the IL fair scene, but she has hooked a
solid group for her local debut. I’ll
watch one first.
7
Patty Says So
Patty was offstride early
last time, but she has held her own here all season against far tougher
company than she faces tonight. Should
be charging late once again.
8
Jimmy Conway
Came from FAR back last time
to mow down the front runner for the victory.
Steps up to take on a much tougher group here, but should be flying
late once again.
9
Sister Gola
Has been in over her head
recently against the best of the best, and should find this level much more
to her liking. Might be in line for a
wakeup call, but still going to need her very best.
10
Sand Allistar
Coming off a scratched sick
line and lands on the outside of solid crew.
Not a great recipe for success.
Race 5 Selections 9-5-8-4
1
GD Rosanne
Yet to hit the board in 15
LT starts, and hard to see things changing here. Wilson
opted to #6 instead.
2
Looksgood onu
Lone 2yo in the field has
yet to offer much late kick, and I’ll wait until we see some improvement. Loney opted to #4 instead.
3
B Good Lexi
Hasn’t had much luck at this
level, and would have to pick things up quite a bit still.
4
Billtown Road
Looked to have the heavy fav
collared last time, before she fought back in deep stretch to fend him
off. Lightly raced 5yo appears to be
heading in the right direction though, should be close once again. CL opted here over #2
5
Sadies Scooter
Finished up a nice 2nd
in her only local start 3 starts back, and has been holding her own against
what appears to be tougher company in IN & OH. Appears to have landed in a very
comfortable spot here. Must
respect.
6
Dollar and a Dream
Appears overmatched against
these. Pass. Wilson
opted here over #1.
7
Show Me Some Skin
Got pinned in behind #1 for
a bit last time, and was able to shake loose late to pick up 4th. Faces a similar crew here, needs her very
best. Nisonger opted to #8
instead.
8
Doc’s Coco
Ended up 5th in a
solid group last time, and lands back in what should be a better spot
tonight. Packs plenty of early speed
if Nisonger elects to use it. Nisonger
opted here over #7.
9
Pacific Dancer
Lightly raced 6yo appears to
have taken an interesting route to this point, and may cure those breaking
problems with the move to the big track.
We saw the 3rd place finisher in his win 2 starts back race
VERY well here a couple of weeks back.
Live longhot? I think so.

Through My Eyes
IL bred filly has put
together a solid campaign this year, hitting the board in 9 of 15. Taking on a solid group of older rivals
here though, I may take a shot to beat her with a short price looming.
2
Smoke Rings
Went an absolutely
unbelievable mile last time, wearing down #7 late to score the victory at
20-1 after being parked every step.
Likely to offer value once again.
I can make a case.
3
Jena Mac Love
Circled the field after
sitting last turning for home to win last time on the off track, but this is
a much tougher group she faces here.
Needs even more.
4
Sax Solo
Couldn’t get by #2 after a
picture perfect journey last time, and I’m not sure he is ever going to win
another race if he couldn’t win off that trip. No thanks.
5
Diannas May Day
Tried to go down the road
last time and it nearly worked before getting gunned down in the final few
strides. Steps up to take on a far
better group here, and not sure I’m ready to hop back on board against
these.
6
Ashley Force
Sharp front end score last
time, as she darted to the lead through quick fractions and never looked back
en route to a blowout win. No question
a tougher group tonight, but anything similar makes her a force once
again.
7
Springhouse Rebel
Made an aggressive move to
the lead down the backside last time, and tired a bit down the lane to finish
3rd as the fav. Not sure if
he does his best work on the lead, may revert back to an off the pace rally
here.
8
Radical Cam
Couldn’t keep up with the
runaway winner last time in only his 3rd start back from a 2 year
layoff. Should continue to improve
with each try, but still not sure he is ready to go with these just yet.
9
Unreal Appeal
No shot after sitting last
in solid group last time, but will likely be coming from far back again in
here. She has proven she can go with
these if things worked out well, but I’ll wait for a better spot.
10
Paddy Malone
Another that can go with
these on his best day for certain, but has his work cut out from post 10 with
a ton of early speed inside of him.
How does he get worked into the race?
Race 7 Selections 1-2-5-10
1
Cupcake
Made a break after being
used very hard early last time in $50k PASS Consolation, but has proven that
she can hold her own with some tough stakes company on the east coast. Appears to have landed in a comfortable spot.
2
Voodoo Victor
Continues to improve with
each LT start and ended up with a solid 3rd place finish in the
$15k KYSS last time. Should be in line
for a nice trip behind #1 tonight. ICE
COLD 1-2!
3
Stirling Bonzai
Not a bad try for her local
debut, but she did benefit from several breakers in there as well. Appears to have hooked an even tougher
group tonight, will have to improve even more. Loney opted here over #4.
4
Caribbean Dream
Doesn’t appear to pack the
speed to hang with these just yet. Pass. Loney opted off for #3 instead.
5
Supreme Day
Never worse than 2nd
in 10 career tries, but is facing what is probably the toughest task of her
career tonight. Packs plenty of early
speed, should sit close to the lead once again. Your call.
6
Double Dip
Much improved effort last
time to be 3rd behind #10, but will have to pick it up even more
to make any major noise against these.
7
Follow My Dreams
Not sure she is ready to go
with these just yet. Pass.
8
Anthropology
Looks like a tough spot for
his career debut. I’ll watch him go
around once first.
9
Peaceful Spirit
Lands in post 9 against a
solid group. Not tonight.
10
Alfredo Dream
Grinded by for a hard fought
victory last time, but unfortunately lands on the outside of a solid group
tonight. Should be able to pick up
some of the pieces late.
Race 8 Selections 7-6-9-4
1
Atta Girl Ranger
Hasn’t had much stamina
recently, and would take a lot more to hang around late against these.
2
Economic Change
Not a bad effort to finish
up an even 3rd in her local debut, and she is likely to continue
to improve here in her 2nd start for new connections. Appears to be one of many with a shot at
the minor awards.
3
Lil Miss Brinley
Never really fired last
time, after making a break in the start prior. I’ve been on the bandwagon in those last
couple, and it appears she may be tailing off a bit. I’m going to look elsewhere. Stiltner opted to #6 instead.
4
B Q Bull
Has been ok here against
similar company, and is yet to find the winner’s circle but has hit the board
in 6 of 12 on the season. His best
effort puts him in the mix here as well.
5
Etienne
Appears to be improving, but
still asking a bit much for him to go with these in his 3rd LT
try. Not tonight.
6
Leanto Scarlet
Trotted evenly from outside
posts in the last couple, and should enjoy the post relief tonight. Not sure she can knock off the fav, but her
best should put her close. Stiltner
opted here over #3.
7
Delmary
Just missed a check in the
$250k KYSS Final last time, and appears to have really rounded the corner
since arriving locally earlier this summer.
Short price looming, but I just can’t see anyone beating her.
8
Maxaman
Appears to be over the
breaking problems that plagued him early on in his career, but will still
need to find a bit more speed to hang with the top ones in here.
9
HS Certified
Held her own against some
decent fillies on the east coast, and appears to pack enough early speed to
overcome post 9. Should be able to
getaway close and hopefully hang around for a piece late.
10
Ranggo Kid
Hasn’t had a lot of pop
against similar company here all season, and now gets slammed with post
10. Pass.
Race 9 Selections 6-2-4-7-3 10 CENT SUPER HI FIVE WAGERING
1
Patsy Dream
Hasn’t had much success
recently against similar company in Columbus,
and appears to have hooked a difficult group for this level in her local
debut.
2
Crime Scene Cruzer
Hung in for a long way after
an impossible trip in his last try, and any smoother journey should put him
right in the mix against these. Must
respect.
3
Hillcrest Domingo
Steps back up to take on a
solid group tonight, after not having a ton of pop on the end of it
lately. Didn’t appear to be overloaded
before the break last time. I’ll watch
for any improvement.
4
Do It Best
Has held his own here
against some solid groups all season, and lands in another tough crew
here. Will need his very best to make
any noise against these.
5
Rocknroll Herman
Lands in a perfect mid-pack
post tonight, but appears to be a much tougher group on paper than he faced
last time. I’ll wait for a better
spot.
6
AB’s Beach Boy
Tough trip last time and
never really got worked into the race.
I am willing to throw that out, because he looked like his old self 2
back. I would expect a more aggressive
steer with Christensen. I’m on
board.
7
O’Rourke Three
Parlayed a perfect trip
behind the fav last time into a close 3rd place finish. Has been solid against similar company here
all season, and any similar effort puts him in play once again.
8
Delvecchio
Dominant win at Northfield last time, but he didn’t have a ton of
success against similar company at Scioto
prior. Lands in a tough group for this
level locally. I’ll pass for now.
9
Feel the Jolt
Would need a lot more
stamina to hang around late with these.
I’ll watch this one.
10
Arringarosa
I was on board last time and
he never hit a pace. Drops down a bit
here, and he certainly has the ability to go with these. However, it’s hard for me to jump back on
board after seeing that. Take a long
look at him on the track.
